It is called the winter season in Nepal. It is a season for snowfall in mountain region above 4300m in Nepal. So trekking is possible below 4500m during this period. This season is noted for occasional snowfall at higher elevations in Himalayas. Though it gets colder in night, often it offers the clear day / blue sky and relatively less trekkers on the trail.Sunrise and Sunset are seen very clear and beautiful in this season. So tourist who wants to pass short holidays during this period Himalayan vacation Treks and Expedition welcomes to see splendid view of nature. During this period, we arrange family tour to experience natural beauty with short hikings and cultural tour.It is suitable for homestay tour through which different rituals and culture can be experienced during this period. It is spring season which is known as trekking season in Nepal. A smooth wind and gentle breeze is felt all over the country. It is the season of expedition and climbing high peaks in Nepal .So many tourist from different parts of the world come to climb peaks above 7000m in this season. June ,July and August
It is rainy season in Nepal. As it is the season of heavy rainfall. it is also known as the crops harvesting season in Nepal. In this season, trekking is slight difficult in Nepal. These times are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation. Trekking in the rain-shadow (places are out of reach of the rain clouds because of the high mountains) areas north of the Himalaya like Upper Mustang and Dolpo could be an ideal trek selection. However, Himalayan vacation Treks and Expedition arranges tour and trek during this period in dry areas. We arrange treks and tour in dry areas like Mustang , Upper Dolpa , Leh Ladakh (India) and Tibet.
September , October and November
Moderate temperatures, clear sky with outstanding views, making it a great time to do any of our trek. Occasional short storms may dump snow at high altitudes.This is the season of feast and festivals. This is also known as the special season for flowers in Nepal. Marigold is the popular and found best in this season. Temples and holy places are visited during this period. Festivals like Dashain , Tihar and Chhath are celebrated during this season. Long national holidays are offered for this festival for civil workers. This season is known as the king of the season. No rainfall, sunny days and moderate temperature are the most favourable factors of this season for treks and tours in Nepal.Every kind of treks and tours can be done during this period.So many tourist come to see beautiful Nepal in this season. Many trekking routes are full of tourist during this season. Peaks 6000m to 7000m are the best destination for climbing in this season.Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition welcomes tourist to feel the splendid view of nature of Nepal in this season.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m)
You are welcomed to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal renowned for historical monuments, Hindu Temples, and Buddhist Stupas/Monasteries. We meet our guests at the Tribhuvan International Airport. A representative will be waiting with a Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition placard with our guests’ names displayed. After dropping luggage at the hotel, guests are taken for a short sightseeing tour. In the evening, guests are invited to a Welcome Dinner at a Nepali restaurant.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu (1320m)
A local guide will be available. According to your wishes, the guide will escort you for sightseeing. Sightseeing may include the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupati, Boudhanath, Patan Durbar Square, and the Swoyambhunath areas. Starting after breakfast, usually at 9.00am, the exploration of Kathmandu Valley can continue until 5.00pm. Lunch and dinner, you will be responsible for.
Day 03: Kathmandu-Syabrubesi (1,503m): 8-9 hours by bus
We start early bus journey to Syabrubesi; the starting point of the trek. After Trisuli Bazaar the road is little difficult because of the grubby road. During the travel we pass through many small and villages on the way. We reach Dhunche, the headquarter of Rasuwa District, a small city in the hills. But we don’t stop here. We head to Syabrubesi a beautiful Tamang village, where we spend the night,
Day 04: Syabrubesi – Lama Hotel (2,500m) 5 hours walk
The first part of the trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi River and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail gradually ascends up to Bamboo (1,960m) passing rugged paths. Afterwards, your trek climbs gently to Rimche (2,400m) through Bamboo which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. You can have lunch at this place if you like and at the end your trail is the Lama Hotel. En route you could see red pandas, monkeys and bears if you are lucky.
Day 05: Lama Hotel – Langtang Village (3430m) 4 and half hours walk
The trek route follows Gumanechok at Ghoda Tabela which literally means the Horse Stable. After this the trail climbs gradually to the beautiful valley with yaks around. Langtang is a typical village and one of the oldest along this trekking route. The views of the mountains are spectacular and become more imposing as well trek closer. In the beginning steady climb up through the valley leaving the tree line behind us. We enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung.Pass. On the way, we view water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them.
Day 06: Langtang Village – Kyangjin Gumba (3830m) 3 hours walk
After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures. It is shorter walk today, but adequate for acclimatizing. There are some interesting things to explore, especially the famouse cheese factory – don’t forget to try some locally produced cheese as fresh as it could get. We see largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is not visible well, it is supposed to be blown away by the wind. We cross several wooden bridges. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes, we might start feeling the thin air.This beautiful valley is on the lap of the Langtang Lirung. This is the spot where we can explore the valley and climbs several small peaks (hillocks).
Day 07: Kyangjin Gumba Rest/ Acclimatization/Exploration day
Today is a day to rest for acclimatization and we explore the area too. We can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4773m) for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks or we may make an excursion to Tsergo (Cherko) Ri (4984m) which would help us to acclimatize. Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition leader will make arrangement for today’s entire programme.
Day 08: Kyangjin Gumba- Kang La Phedi (4960m) 4 hours walk
Taking today’s breakfast, we board on our today’s journey to Ganja La Phedi. Cross the Langtang River. Ascend through rhododendron forests. Since, we’re already in high altitude, the time for getting to our destination also depends upon the season of the trek. Since, during the winter snow, it might take longer time to cross the snow strewn path. No villages can be seen in this area.
Day 09: Kang La Phedi – Cross the Ganja La pass (5130m) – Keldang (4270m) 6 and half hours walk
Today we cross the Ganja La pass. It’d be a strenuous day since Ganja La is one of the difficult passes. Ganja la pass is covered with snow almost throughout the year. Make the long ascent through the boulders, pass the small lakes, and summit the Ganja La which situated on a rocky moraine. Enjoy the spectacular views from the pass. Climbing up and down the pass can sometimes be tricky due to snowfall and ice. From the pass, we descend down to Keldang.
Day 10: Extra Day (for Emergency, if any)
Day 11: Keldang – Dukpa (4040m) 5 and half hours walk
From Keldang, we descend further down following a prominent ridge line. In our 5-6 hrs trek today, we continue losing our altitude through forests, ridges, and grasslands. But we enjoy the amazing view of Himalayas on the way.
Day 12: Dukpa – Tarkeghyang (2,600m) 4 hours walk
Today, we lose altitude considerably, about 1500 meters. The trail descends slightly before climbing over a 4,100m pass, from where spectacular view of the Annapurna and the Everest regions can be clearly seen. From the pass the trail descends through the pine forest, rhododendron forest past a tiny herder settlement called Tarkeghyang. You can visit one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries and Sherpa villages in this region. You will be welcomed by cheerful and friendly people of this village.
Day 13: Tarkeghyang – Kakani (1996m) via Shermathang (2,621m) 5 hours walk
This day the trail is quite easy through flat land with beautiful forests and small streams along the way. We’ll visit a beautiful village half way to Shermathang, another pretty Sherpa village where we can see many ancient monasteries and also the Jugal Himal range on the north face of the village. From Shermathang we walk to Kakani Bhanjyang, a village with panoramic view of mountains and green hills.
Day 14: Kakani- Melamchi Pul (870m) ( 2 and half hours walk)- Bhaktapur by vehicle 3-4 hours
The trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar through meadows and cultivated fields. Along the way, you come across several old villages with their own unique traditions. The walk today is quite pleasant with great mountain views. We drive from Melamchi Pul to Bhaktapur buy bus/vehicle for 4 hours. Then we go through sightseeing in Bhaktapur Darbar Square area. We stay in a hotel in Bhaktapur for the night.
Day 15: Bhaktapur ( 1401m)- Kathmandu (1320m)/Shopping, Rest
This day is free too. If you wish, a sightseeing trip to the ancient temple/king’s seat of the world heritage site of incredible Bhaktapur can be arranged. The tour lasts 4 hours, and will cost an additional upcharge. In the evening, a Farewell Dinner is given by Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition.
Day 16: Departure from Kathmandu (1320m)
A Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition staff representative will take our valuable guests to the airport (3 hours prior to your flight) and bid goodbye. It will be not only goodbye, but also the welcome for next visit to Nepal.
