During the travel we pass through many small and villages on the way. We reach Dhunche, the headquarter of Rasuwa District, a small city in the hills. But we don’t stop here. We head to Syabrubesi a beautiful Tamang village, where we spend the night,

The first part of the trail crosses through the Bhote Koshi River and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail gradually ascends up to Bamboo (1,960m) passing rugged paths. Afterwards, your trek climbs gently to Rimche (2,400m) through Bamboo which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. You can have lunch at this place if you like and at the end your trail is the Lama Hotel. En route you could see red pandas, monkeys and bears if you are lucky.

The trek route follows Gumanechok at Ghoda Tabela which literally means the Horse Stable. After this the trail climbs gradually to the beautiful valley with yaks around. Langtang is a typical village and one of the oldest along this trekking route. The views of the mountains are spectacular and become more imposing as well trek closer. In the beginning steady climb up through the valley leaving the tree line behind us. We enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung.Pass. On the way, we view water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them.

After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures.  It is shorter walk today, but adequate for acclimatizing. There are some interesting things to explore, especially the famouse cheese factory – don’t forget to try some locally produced cheese as fresh as it could get. We see largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is not visible well, it is supposed to be blown away by the wind. We cross several wooden bridges. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes, we might start feeling the thin air. This beautiful valley is on the lap of the Langtang Lirung. This is the spot where we can explore the valley and climbs several small peaks (hillocks).

Since, during the winter snow, it might take longer time to cross the snow strewn path. No villages can be seen in this area.

Day 09: Kang La Phedi – Cross the Ganja La pass (5130m) – Keldang (4270m) 6 and half hours walk

Today we cross the Ganja La pass. It’d be a strenuous day since Ganja La is one of the difficult passes.   Ganja la pass is covered with snow almost throughout the year. Make the long ascent through the boulders, pass the small lakes, and summit the Ganja La which situated on a rocky moraine. Enjoy the spectacular views from the pass. Climbing up and down the pass can sometimes be tricky due to snowfall and ice. From the pass, we descend down to Keldang.

Day 11: Keldang – Dukpa (4040m) 5 and half hours walk

From Keldang, we descend further down following a prominent ridge line. In our 5-6 hrs trek today, we continue losing our altitude through forests, ridges, and grasslands. But we enjoy the amazing view of Himalayas on the way.

 Day 12: Dukpa – Tarkeghyang (2,600m) 4 hours walk

Today, we lose altitude considerably, about 1500 meters. The trail descends slightly before climbing over a 4,100m pass, from where spectacular view of the Annapurna and the Everest regions can be clearly seen. From the pass the trail descends through the pine forest, rhododendron forest past a tiny herder settlement called Tarkeghyang.
