It is called the winter season in Nepal. It is a season for snowfall in mountain region above 4300m in Nepal. So trekking is possible below 4500m during this period. This season is noted for occasional snowfall at higher elevations in Himalayas. Though it gets colder in night, often it offers the clear day / blue sky and relatively less trekkers on the trail.Sunrise and Sunset are seen very clear and beautiful in this season. It is rainy season in Nepal. As it is the season of heavy rainfall. it is also known as the crops harvesting season in Nepal. In this season, trekking is slight difficult in Nepal. These times are blessed for the keen botanist as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation. Trekking in the rain-shadow (places are out of reach of the rain clouds because of the high mountains) areas north of the Himalaya like Upper Mustang and Dolpo could be an ideal trek selection. However, Himalayan vacation Treks and Expedition arranges tour and trek during this period in dry areas. We arrange treks and tour in dry areas like Mustang , Upper Dolpa , Leh Ladakh (India) and Tibet.
September , October and November
Moderate temperatures, clear sky with outstanding views, making it a great time to do any of our trek. Occasional short storms may dump snow at high altitudes.This is the season of feast and festivals. This is also known as the special season for flowers in Nepal. Marigold is the popular and found best in this season. Temples and holy places are visited during this period. Festivals like Dashain , Tihar and Chhath are celebrated during this season. Long national holidays are offered for this festival for civil workers. This season is known as the king of the season. No rainfall, sunny days and moderate temperature are the most favourable factors of this season for treks and tours in Nepal.Every kind of treks and tours can be done during this period.So many tourist come to see beautiful Nepal in this season. Many trekking routes are full of tourist during this season. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1337m)
You are welcomed to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal renowned for historical monuments, Hindu Temples, and Buddhist Stupas/Monasteries. We meet our guests at the Tribhuvan International Airport. A representative will be waiting with a Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition placard with our guests’ names displayed. After dropping luggage at the hotel, guests are taken for a short sightseeing tour. In the evening, guests are invited to a Welcome Dinner at a Nepali restaurant.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu (1337m)
A local guide will be available. According to your wishes, the guide will escort you for sightseeing. Sightseeing may include the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupati, Boudhanath, Patan Durbar Square, and the Swoyambhunath areas. Starting after breakfast, usually at 9.00am, the exploration of Kathmandu Valley can continue until 5.00pm. Lunch and dinner, you will be responsible for.
Day 03: Kathmandu drive to Sundarijal (1460 meters), walk to Chisapani (2165 m)
We drive to Sundarijal bus stop, 15km far from the centre of Kathmandu city, for about one hour. A large drinking water project is located here. After the bus stop, we walk the route slightly goes uphill through the village first then a jungle. We go through an army barrack, a check post for Shivapuri and Nagarjun National Park. Then we see a water reservoir. This point is picnic spot as well. Then the sheer stairs in the various places goes slightly through the Tamang village up to Mulkharka. Then the path goes through the jungle leading us to Chisapani.
There are a few small tea stalls where we can sit and enjoy a stunning view of the Kathmandu valley on the way. After Mulkharka it goes up through the dense jungle. We cross Burlang Bhanjyang (pass) at the altitude of 2472meters. The jungle in this area is full of wild animals like leopard, bear, jackal, monkey, deer and birds. So may have encounter with any of them. The forest is of pine, oak and rhododendron. The Mountain View from the pass is dazzling. After the pass we go slightly down to our campsite, Chisapani through the forest walking for about 40 minutes. There is a check post before our campsite. From today onwards, after the dinner or before we go to bed, the Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition trekking guide will take report and give briefing in every evening about the trek that we are going to make next day.
Day 04: Chisapani -Gol Banjyang (2130 meters)
We are in the Helambu region. We can have a spectacular view of northern range of Himalayas from Chisapani. The path goes down in the beginning for some time through the beautiful meadows and fields to Pati Bhanjyang. Then we walk through the village called Thulo Bhanjyang, it is a Tamang, Brahmin and Chhetri village with a few shops and tea houses .Nearby is a glorious stupa (Buddhist) with the beautiful prayer flags. Then we head to another beautiful village called Chip Ling at 2170 meters where we have lunch. Then we head to Jhogin Danda from where we can have a nice view of the surrounding mountains. We continue walking through forests to Thotung Danda. We continue our path up to the Tamang village of Gul Banjyang where we camp for the night. Day 05: Gul Banjyang – Kyula Bhanjyang (3280 m)
The path slightly goes up from Gul Banjyang to a pass at 2580 meters. From a grassy meadow we can look back over Gul Banjyang at large chorten which we had passed just yesterday. It is downhill to Khutumsang.This vilage has completely adjusted to trekkers. Almost every house in the village is a shop or lodge. There is a national park office here. Also a cave is there. The route continues north to Yurin Danda, with magnificent views of the peaks of Langtang and Gosainkunda. After Khutumsang the path goes uphill through pine and rhododendron forests. After crossing the Bhanjyang Kharka, a midow, we camp at Kyuola Bhanjyang. Day 06: Kyuola Bhanjyang- Tharepati (3690 m)
The path goes slightly uphill to Mangengoth for half an hour in the beginning. Mangengoth is also a campsite for the trekkers with lodge and tea houses. Today we have short trek. We are trekking in the higher altitude; so slight acclimatization is needed. The first path is a bit steep, and then more gradually goes up and down. We pass through beautiful pine forests and meadows and arrive at Tharepati, the campsite. Since we have enough time, we can have a visit to Melamchigaon, a beautiful village. Day 07: Tharepati – Melamchi Gaon (2530 m)
The path goes downhill through the dense forest of rhododendron in the beginning. We cross Melamchi River through the suspension bridge constructed over the River. We view a big beautiful water fall from the bridge. Just over the bridge is the village of Melamchi. Tamang and Sherpa people reside in the village in majority. Hence, we can visit to Gopma here. Internet, telephone, mobile service facility available. Day 08: Melamchi Gaon – Tarke Ghyang (2600 m)
The path slightly goes downhill to another Melamchi River. We cross the river through the suspension bridge again. We walk through the Nakotegaon, Tamang and Sherpa village. The chyorten and Gompa are seen on the way. We walk steep uphill to Tarke Ghyang, Sherpa village and camp for the night. We can visit to Gompa along with the Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition trekking guide. Day 09: Tarke Ghyang-Sermathang (2590 m)
From Tarke Ghyang the path goes almost flat for the whole day. We walk through several beautiful small Tamang and Sherpa villages. Also we enjoy jungle walk from time to time. Finally we reach Sermathang a big Sherpa village for the camp at night. The village has a school and internet facility. A police check post also lies here. The view of Panchpokhari and Jugal Himal is panoramic from here. Day 10: Sermathang – Melamchi Pul/ Bazaar (870 m)
The path goes flat in the beginning then it goes downhill for the whole trek through the several small villages. We can see some school buildings on the way. We camp in the Melamchi Bazar that lies in the bank of Melamchi amd Indrawati River. We can wash/ take bath in the river. Day 11: Melamchi Pul – Bhaktapur by bus 3-4 hours drive
We drive from Melamchi Pul to Bhaktapur buy bus/vehicle for 4 hours. Then we go through sightseeing in Bhaktapur Darbar Square area. We stay in a hotel in Bhaktapur for the night. Day 12: Bhaktapur- Kathmandu (1337m)/Shopping, Rest
After breakfast we head to Kathmandu. We have enough time. So, this day you spend on your own either looking around Kathmandu, buying souvenir for your friends/family or you can have full rest or prepare for going back to your home country the next day. In the evening you will be served the Farewell Dinner by the company.
Day 13: Departure from Kathmandu (1337m)
A Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition staff representative will take our valuable guests to the airport (3 hours prior to your flight) and bid goodbye. It will be not only goodbye, but also the welcome for next visit to Nepal.
