Welcome to our lovely homestay, Himalayan Vacation Home! We offer a charming roof garden room for rent, complete with an attached bathroom and a comfortable double bed. For larger groups, we can accommodate more guests with additional options: a cozy single room for one person and a spacious room for three, featuring three single beds that share a common bathroom.

Our roof deck, elevated four floors above the street, provides stunning views of the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) on a nearby hill and the majestic Langtang mountain range in the distance. We also offer European-standard tents on the roof deck for those who prefer a unique outdoor experience.

Situated in a peaceful neighborhood of well-constructed family homes, our homestay is a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. We’re conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the Thamel District, the heart of Kathmandu’s tourist and shopping scene. The Monkey Temple is only a 7-minute stroll away, and the International Airport is approximately a 15-20minute taxi ride. Taxis and the Pokhara tourist bus stop are just a quick 2-minute walk from our home, and the tourist bus station at Naya Bazar is easily accessible within 7-8 minutes on foot.

Our home features solar hot water and showers, WiFi internet access, and an international landline telephone. The modern kitchen is equipped with ample counter space, a gas stove, a refrigerator, and coffee-making facilities. Breakfast and meals can be shared with the family, or you can use the kitchen to prepare your own meals (please note, we kindly ask that no meat be cooked, as we follow Buddhist practices). On our roof garden, we cultivate our favorite herbal teas, including mint and lemongrass, which we love to serve our guests.

We are Palsang and Maya Tamang, a Buddhist couple from the Tamang ethnic community in Kavre, where we raised our three children. With over twelve years of experience as a mountain trek tourist guide, I operate my own company, Himalayan Vacation Treks Expedition, based in Kathmandu.
