The Limi Valley, located in the remote Humla district of north-west Nepal near the Tibet border, is a newly introduced trek by HIMALAYAN VACATION TREKS AND EXPEDITION. This isolated region is renowned for its untouched, ancient Buddhist way of life, with villagers speaking their own language and often being unfamiliar with Nepali. The Gompas (Buddhist monasteries) in the valley, constructed in ancient times, continue to serve their spiritual purpose today.
Despite being part of Nepal, the Limi Valley has strong ties with Tibet, with almost all goods and supplies being transported from Tibet via goats and yaks rather than coming from lower elevations in Nepal. The valley is home to three main villages: Til (4,100 meters), Zang (3,930 meters), and Waltse (3,700 meters). These villages are situated along the historic salt trading and pilgrimage route between Tibet and Nepal and are accessed by crossing the renowned Nara La Pass (4,620 meters).
