Help Rebuild Shree Panchakanya Higher Secondary School
An Appeal for Support and Volunteers

Shree Panchakanya Higher Secondary School, the oldest educational institution in Thulo Parsel-05, Temal, Kavrepalanchok, was severely damaged in the devastating earthquake of April 2015. Established over 60 years ago in 1957 AD, the school has been a cornerstone of learning for generations.

Today, the original building has been demolished, and only 44% of the new structure has been completed. Meanwhile, the 285 students, along with teachers and staff, are managing their classes in a shared facility with another school, facing significant overcrowding and hardship.

Located just 72 km from Kathmandu, the capital city, the school remains incredibly remote due to its poor road access. Beyond the challenges of infrastructure, the school community also suffers from a lack of safe drinking water, further affecting the wellbeing of students and staff.

Shree Panchakanya School serves a diverse community of students from Tamang (majority), Magar, Dalit, Brahman, and Chhetri backgrounds. It provides education from Grade 1 through Grade 12 and remains one of the few educational lifelines in this rural area.

Unfortunately, government funding is extremely limited for public schools in Nepal, especially in rural regions like this. As a result, the local community has been striving to rebuild the school and offer quality education on its own—but the challenge is too great without outside help.

We need your support:

  • Donations for the reconstruction of the school building

  • Safe drinking water systems

  • Volunteer teachers, particularly English language instructors from abroad

Your support can make a direct and lasting impact on hundreds of young lives in Thulo Parsel. Whether you contribute financially or volunteer your time and skills, you will be part of a meaningful effort to empower a resilient but underserved community.
