Langtang Valley is a popular hike. The Langtang Region is in the Himalaya Mountains close to Kathmandu. With just a few hours’ drive from the Capital, this natural rural highland with its Langtang National Park is reached. This is home to the Tamang People who are of Tibetan culture and tradition. The hike is popular because it affords, close to Kathmandu, the opportunity to witness the Tibetan life style. This Himalayan Vacation Treks and Expedition tour walks through Rhododendron and bamboo forests, follows a river with majestic waterfalls and bee hive-caves full of honey, and offers good views of the snow-capped Himalayas. For the Kathmandu Area, it is a most unique trek.
We start with a day’s bus ride from Kathmandu. We stay in a guest house by the Trisuli River in Syabrubesi. The next morning, we head upward to Lama Hotel Village in Langtang Valley. We continue the following day to walk to the famous Kanyanjing Gompa, our destination. After a day exploring the region, in which if we choose we can visit a Yak cheese factory, or the Cherko Ri Glacier (4984m), or Yala Peak (5500m), we trek the same route back to Syabrubesi.
