A Caste is a grouping in a society, usually by hereditary, occupation, or ethnicity.  Hindu, Indian, and Nepali societies traditionally function as caste Systems.  In Nepali, ethnicity, tribal groupings are the basis for a caste.  There are four major castes in Nepal based upon the Indian system of grouping by hereditary occupation, and thirty-six ethnic sub-castes with different languages and cultures.
